Food is expensive, especially when it comes to producing. If you do the grocery shopping, then you know that it can be difficult to get the most for your money. Growing your foods is helpful and beneficial even to your budget.

There are some fruits and vegetables that you can replant and grow yourself which ensures that you will always the items you need on hand. It helps cut down on money that you spend on produce every week. These foods can be replanted and regrown to benefit you in the highest of ways.
1. Lettuce:
Lettuce is easy to regrow from scraps. Don’t throw out your leftovers, place the leaves in a bowl with a bit of water in the bottom. Keep the bowl in sunlight and mist the leaves with water a couple of times a week. You will notice roots begin to appear after 3 or 4 days. After the roots form, you can transplant the lettuce to the soil.
2. Celery:
This is one of the easiest foods to regrow. Place the base of the celery stalks in a bowl of warm water and keep the bowl in direct sunlight as long as you can every day. The leaves will start to thicken and regrow after this happens you can transplant the celery to the soil.
3. Potatoes:
take potato peelings that have eyes on them and cut them into two-inch pieces. Allow the peelings to dry out overnight and plant them in four inches deep into soil.
4. Ginger:
Ginger is easy to grow. Plant a spare piece of ginger root into the potting soil and make sure the buds are facing up. New shoots and new roots will begin to form in about a week.
5. Pineapples:
cut the top off a pineapple and keep it in a container full of water. Keep the container in direct sunlight. If it is a warm out you can sit it outside and bring it in at night. Change the water every other day and keep the container filled so that it is just above the base of the pineapple.
6. Garlic:
Garlic is easy to regrow and can be done with just one clove. Take a clove and plant it with the roots facing down. Be sure to keep the plant in direct sunlight. When you notice, new shoots cut them back, and it will produce a bulb.
7. Onions:
Cut the root of an onion and make sure you leave about half an inch of onion. Cover lightly with soil and keep in a sunny area. Change the water every few days and the green will continue to grow.
8. Cherries:
Take the pit from a cherry and keep in a cold storage area for a few weeks so it can germinate. After a few weeks plant the pit in the soil in a lidded container and keep it in the fridge. Leave for about 12 weeks and then transplant outside.
